Wychwood’s ‘headliner coup’ for June 2017 Family Festival

News just in to us here at QuotroFest is something of a coup for one of the UK’s most successful and friendly Family Festivals – Wychwood – being staged down our way again this year at the famous Cheltenham Racecourse from the 2nd – 4th June.

very special

Once again, Wychwood looks like being a ‘very special’ Festival event with over 100 bands on the four stages. There’s also a Kids Literature Festival, some Comedy and a Real Ale Festival and some great food too ..apparently! Good news for the QuotroFest team for sure!

Gold Cup ‘camping

There’s super camping too of course, against the stunning Cotswolds hills, which are such iconic viewing as a backdrop to the world famous Cheltenham Gold Cup run at the Cheltenham course every March.

Sure to be a winner is the Festival’s Saturday ‘headliner coup’ – Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – a stylish and much-admired UK electronic band, highly influential for sure taking into account their leading hits – Enola, If you Leave and So in Love.

The Levellers are back at Wychwood as the Sunday ‘headliners’. They return following a survey by the organisers as to which band the Wychwood crowd would most like to see at the 2017 event – and the Levellers were the No1 choice!

Cbeebies star for kids

For youngsters, Katie Ashworth – as seen on the Cbeebies’s – I Can Cook series, will opening the Main Stage on Saturday. Also, The East Pointers will entertain with their unique Celtic Folk on the Main Stage and will crack out a few tracks from their debut album, Secret Victory.

There’s a return for Wychwood ‘house’ band Thrill Collins on the Sunday Main Stage, along with Electric Swing Circus, who’s music genre ‘offering’ is vintage electro swing and splendid it is too!

dance..dance ..dance

Other fantastic acts confirmed for the weekend include Kanga Bongo Man – certain to have Wychwood in dance.. dance.. dance.. mode, with hits such as Monie, Lela-Lela and Isambe …. excellent!

Wychwood radio

The Festival has its own radio station, Wychwood 87.7 FM. The station is a joint project by student station, Tone Radio and The University of Gloucestershire. The Station will run throughout the festival weekend offering up to date festival information and news coverage of all the acts and exclusive live performances.

All of the presenters are student volunteers, who have been involved with Tone Radio alongside their university studies.
