‘Food for thought’ for 2017 from The Festival Calendar

The up and coming year will – says the always informative Festival Calendar (www.thefestivalcalendar.co.uk) be an exceptional year for Food & Drink Festivals and Events of style, interest and originality. A very tasty outlook!

Checking the outlook

Here on this Blog, we at QuotroFest have already been checking the outlook at the Great British Food Festival, staged at nine Country House-style venues UK wide from April – August; The British Food Festival at the Royal Windsor Racecourse in early July and also the unique Foodie event – complete with Music and Street Theatre, staged in June in Regency Cheltenham in Gloucestershire – the UK Shire Counties Festivals ‘Capital’

Getting organised now !

So, with thanks to our friends at ‘The Festival Calendar’ a little ‘taster’ or two of the Food Festival ‘action’ getting organised now up and down the UK for the year ahead

pork pies too!

The early 2017 ‘starter’ is the Lichfield Winter Beer Festival, run by Lichfield Arts at the Midlands town’s Guildhall on January 28th and 29th All about real ale – 25 different ones – Ciders and pork pies too … of course! Music both evenings. Lichfield is easy to get to by rail just 30 minutes from Birmingham. The venue is just five minutes walk from rail and bus stations. http://lichfieldarts.org.uk/whats-on/

…..tasting and a ‘ tippling!

That other drink (as opposed to beer) – Wine – is on show on April 1st at Regency Cheltenham in Gloucestershire . No fooling either! It’s at the town’s legendary Pump Rooms. Plenty of ‘grand tasting’ and experts on hand to tipple you on your way. Limited tickets, so get sorted if you fancy it……  www.cheltenhamwinefestival.con

inspiration in East Devon

A week on and Budleigh Salterton in East Devon could be on your agenda. Reports The Festival Calendar:- “The ethos of the food festival is “Buy Local” to support East Devon’s food producers, local businesses, musical artists and craftspeople. Our aim is to inspire the whole community to make the most of East Devon food resources, promote food producers who show environmental sustainability in their production and reduce food miles… buy local sustainable food and help support our community” Nice – just what such a local Food Festival should be!
